 falkirk town hall, May 2002

We played three covers (kids arent alright, beer and dammit), very poorly, and almost got booed off stage! We played shite, the sound quality was shite, it was generally a shite night! (we hid in obscurity untill we were much better after this night!)

The Room, Pennies Bar,  Falkirk, May 9th 2003

This wa a much better night, god and me were in the pub from 3.30pm, steamin before soundchecks so it was bound to be an interesting night! we were on first, played mostly our own shit and the place was bouncin, never seen it that busy for a long time, fuckin yes!! Played alongside Jaded and a couple of other bands, cannae mind their names as we were completely mangled by the end of the night, which was about half four for us, 13 hrs of solid drinkin, bring it on!

 Firkins, June 2003

this was a really good night, the bar was busy and we had a 90 min set to ourselves.  so we got extremely pished, as you do, and played a mix of covers and our own songs for as long as we could. there was a lot of mates there (even some family), most folk there seemed to enjoy the show and everyone left happy!

 Cleos bar, Rosyth, july 2003

This was set to be a shit night, no crown inside, the wrong type of crowd outside, shit gear and the guy couldnt even work his own PA system (fanny), so we had to do the sound ourselves. lucky for us our gaurdian angel blew the fuckin fuses and the gig got cancelled (with us still getting full payment! back of the net!!!!!). thank fuck for that!

Jacks Bar, Falkirk, 23rd April 2004

pure and simple, this was a fuckin excellent night, the place was well over capacity, played with spoon guard, bovine and spitroast and had a fuckin superb night! just say cheers to everyone that came, it was amazin!!

Rockers, Glasgow, 26th May 2004

well this was set to be a fuckin brilliant night, This Way Ups' first trip into glasgow, had really high hopes!  well those hopes were dashed when (excluding the bar staff, promoters and bands) approx 7 people turned up! to top it all off, the other two bands that played (STML failed to even turn up) were fuckin indie bands, brilliant! lets just look forward to strawberry fields....

BOTB, The Yard, Stirling, 2nd June 2004

last minute gig, got a fone call at half 9 the night before, so we just whinged it. sound wasn't that great (no monitors, but apart from that, twas cool) and a small crowd all helped us with our lack of preperation! only 2 bands played, us and Glow Valve, and we came a respectful 2nd from 2.

Strawberry Fields, Glasgow, 11th  June 2004

this was a fucking great night, really good setup and got a live cd out of the deal, which was really cool. started the set with new song 'follow me' which got a really good reception, and then hammered through a set of favorites. played with mindset, hammerfly and anavris, and all three bands were fuckin excelent, only bad thing was the price of the bar, fuckin extortionate!!!!!!!

The Meadows Skate Park, Sat 11th September 2004

First off, the council are wanks. Our set went quite well considering this was our first gig with the new set-up. The emo song was well received and probably the best song we performed on the day. After that, hoogz fucked up, god fucked up, hammy broke the mic stand and well bugsy just fucked up in general. There wasnt a bad crowd there but wernt moving very much. Perhaps that was due to our fuck ups. Nevermind, bring on the next gig. Hopefully gona get rite back into gigging asap!

The Ellwyn, Grangemouth

This was a mate of a mate's 21st.  Totally last minute thing but turned out not bad in the end.  Played thru all the asual tunes then a good few of the new songs which most of u guys prob aint heard yet.  Got well received, Then played a load of old covers n we all just got fuck ode!still gassed the now like!!!! LUV UZ ALL!!!! (hehe i aint drunk honest)!!! XXXXXXXXXXXX

Jacks Bar, December 2004

This was just an acoustic nite which god n hammy played.  Ran through a few of our own songs aswell as several covers.  Was a really good nite just before xmas.  Everyone just got wrecked n had a blast.  Seemed like people actually liked us aswell which is always good!

The Vale, Glasgow, Thurs 13th Jan 2005

This was a good night, our first of (hopefully) many under the watchfull eyes of promoters PODBOY RECORDS. had a blast, but the unusual stage set -up meant a distinct lack of movement space for us, but fuck it.  played with 3 other bands, one of which were really, really good, hopefully get a review from this one as well in thje near futute, so keep an eye out for that!!!!

Barfly, Glasgow, Mon 31st Jan

A very enjoyable nite had by all i think. Once again we didnt play our best but still managed to have a good time. Played 2 new songs and they seemed to go down the best! Have been invited back in the near future and hopefully be a saturday nite.

Jacks Bar, Fri 5th Feb 2005

SOLD OUT. need we say anymore?

Studio 4, Sat 11th Feb 2005

Bit chaotic, bit of a shambles but got there in the end! the sound was quite good, backing vox were a bit low as they went through a bass amp tho!!! played with Negative Zero who played a good, tight set, cheers guys, bring on aberdeen!

The Moorings Bar, Aberdeen, Sat 19th Feb

first off, the set up in this pace was amazing, fuckin awsome! we were supporting 2 London bands (Driving on the Right and Hi-techjet) so we just went on and played a short but lively set and were well received considering our 150mile journey by car, bus and train! bit bummed we coudnt play newest song 'No-one told U' but it'll be ready for next gig at jacks BOTB

Jacks Bar, Falkirk, Fri 11th Mar BOTB

Did we ever have any doubt?? This nite was up there with the best of them. Up against 2 other bands and a solo acoustic act. I dont think we've ever received a reception like that before. We played very well and managed to get through to the semi finals.

The Cathouse, Glasgow, Wed 30th Mar

This gig was organised the nite before,a bit hectic but it was well worth it!A place we've always wanted to play and it didnt disappoint!Ran thru a short 25min set and we loved every minute of it.Played with another 5 bands which all played similar styles to us (except a couple, those who came along will know what i mean!!)Cant wait til 25th May!

The Barcode, Perth, Sat 2nd Apr

Another gig out of town. I think in total we seen about 200yards square of Perth but hey fun was had by all. This was just a wee small venue but was really go fun, fairly busy and got a good reception. Stumbled across 'That Bar'(yes it was actually called That Bar) a really cool bar. Cheap as nuts and a pool table!AH HEAVEN (and when i say cheap i mean cheaper than Firkins!yes, such a place does exist!)

Jacks Bar, 14th April

went on last after crackin sets by all bands (special mention to legionairres cover of the biffy clyroversion of take me out, fuckin awsome!) went out, done out thing, canna really mind much of it, yet i wasnt drinking, weird.....

Jacks bar, 22nd April

this was the semi final of the battle of the bands, so the events of the night went as follows in the immortal words of brady from spitroast..

must be something - no bad, didny really make much of an impact on me to be honest, but props to the guys aw the same, they sounded good enough

distorted mind - played great, ah mean chances are for the majority of the night ah was about the most excited person in that pub, so ma perspectives maybe no the most reliable, but ah thought distorted mind played fantastic, full of energy, sounded tight, really gave the place a much needed injection of life, all in all great set fae where ah was dancin, pity only one band could go thru

the declined - another crackin set, the cover of sheena was really well done, once again like distorted mind they played wi rakes eh energy and came off really strong on stage, ah great band to finish the night on a high, deserved to go thru, also..... that guest singer they had for sixes and sevens was a sexy bastart!

another superb night at jacks anyway!

The Cathouse, Glasgow.  Wed 25th May

A quality night, some really good bands.  One bad one which was alright coz it made us sound better seen as we followed them.  About 25 of our crowd came thru.  Over a hundred folk there.  Played well, went absolutely nuts on stage then got drunk.
